Cut Your Cord with Free Tube TV

As inflation continues to soar, you can rest assured that thankfully there's alternatives to expensive products that we want, but don't necessarily need - entertainment and cable subscriptions being one of those things we cherish, even if our wallet doesn't.

Fortunately, FreeTube, a site from 2006 that we thought had disappeared has come back with a renewed platform offering a host of legal and free-to-watch cable TV channels you can enjoy from your browser. A lot has changed with technology, and you no longer need to have flash or operating system-based video players, like WinAmp or RealPlayer or Windows Media Player, to watch these live tv streams anymore.

The streams load very fast and channel changing is now simple with the categorization made more static than the site previously had featured nearly 2 decades earlier. I was able to watch CNN before flipping to MSNBC and then watching Discovery Channel and even other independent TV channels dotted across the continental USA.

I would love to see more International channels and the library build-up to 1000s of channels, as Free Tube had previously boasted in the early days of the web 2.0 streaming era. However, this is a great start and I can't wait to see more.

The Overall Ratings for Free Tube Live Streaming:
Show Diversity: (5/5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Based on the mixture of television shows available on the site.
Loading Speed: (5/5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The time taken to navigate the site and load videos.
Ease of Navigation: (4/5)

Final Comments:
Great site, can't wait to see more live tv channels. Works on mobile, as well as desktop which is a nice perk in the 16 years since we first featured it.

Twit TV

Twit TV is the brainchild of Leo Laporte of Call For Help fame from the now defunct Tech TV channel. The site acts an extension of a show he now hosts on Canadian network station G4TV. The site provides coverage of technological devices and new trends and seeks to help people understand what's going on in the world of technology. Twit TV also hosts a live nightly streams of interesting content that Leo Laporte and co-host AmberMac discover and discuss.

The Overall Ratings for Weapon Videos:
Show Diversity: (3/5)
Based on the mixture of television shows available on the site.
Loading Speed: (3/5)
The time taken to navigate the site and load videos.
Ease of Navigation: (2/5)
How easy is it to use and navigate.
Advertisements: (1/5)
Based on the annoyance level of advertisements on this site, the amount of ads, and the volatility of ads appearing on the page.
The lower the rating, the less annoying the ads are.

Total Score: 15/20

Twit TV isn the most cutting edge of shows, rather then call this a video site I would say this is closer to a podcast. The site has a few rough edges, navigation is a little clunky and the overall video experience is a little rough around the edges to the point where users are drive towards the live podcast rather then the video on demand content (VOD). The site requires you to have a basic knowledge of computers and technology to really understand the content and programming. So if you're not interested in technology, this site most likely will not be of value or of interest to you. Where as if your concerned and interested and entertained by technological trends and the going-ons of software and hardware, you will find Twit TV fascinating. Check it out if this sounds like something you would fancy.

Watch the Olympics Live Online

Watch the Olympics Online is a video portal for Olympic sports content. The site, with not so creative a name, offers up an extensive collection of archived footage of past olympic games, tournaments and events. Another nifty little addition is the inclusion of documentaries and full fledged movies about the olympics, including documentary spotlights on athletes.

In compliment to Olympic videos, watch the olympics online also does exactly that - by offering up live video streams of the actual olympic games events. The site provides multiple streams bing broadcasted so you can watch different events being played. The entire thing just requires the flash plugin and works exceptionaly well given the amount of events going on at the same time. You can get different perspectives as many of the live internet streams are from differing countries.

Watch Olympics Live
is definately worth visiting, although the name could have used more imagination, the site works quite well. I'm not so sure how well this work after and whteher it will be of any use, but for olympics sports videos - this can't be beat. Even NBC's coverage, which is only avaiable to those in the US, is not so great. Unfortunately, as I'm not American I can't test out NBC or YouTube's coverage so this hits the spot quite nicely.

The Choose And Watch Manifesto

Choose And Watch Television is the ultimate portal for reviews on live streaming television sites. Each week we'll try to collect a handful of sites to watch TV episodes and Live Television streams and briefly review them. The main purpose is to give you a great collection of sites that you can get your fill of entertainment from.

Í don't intend to post tv shows or anything of that sort here, so don't come asking for it. Instead we'll post some great kick ass television sites, and you can head on over to check them out. I'll try to update this every week, so subscribe to our RSS feed to make sure you're always one step ahead of everyone else on the best sites to watch shows.

There's really too many crap sites, or sites just out to make a very fast buck and don't even have real episodes or shows. Plus now some sites are taking to begging for donations or using that dreadful Zango spyware. We will not tolerate any site that has mandatory registration, Spyware or Malware, or requires you to download a customized player for the site (no that doesn't mean Flash player, but rather special extra programs to play the videos besides Flash or Div X). Comments will be open for everyone to comment on the sites, maybe we missed out on something that you can correct.

We will not take any money or bribes to review sites, so no paid ads or sponsored reviews. That means we will be fair unobjective - any site that can't stand up to the criticism shouldn't operate. And any site that won't pledge to rejecting bribes or payment for reviews is not worth your time. Don't put up with it.
